In summer, the quays of the Seine offer a beautiful space for strolling to Parisians. From June 23 to September 23, 2022, these quays are even more attractive, thanks to the installations of five artists. The course “Upside down” is to discover for free without waiting!

Paris is sometimes called the city-museum : we walk there, and we discover at each street corner works, monuments and remarkable buildings. In edge of the Seineart is even more present: you can enjoy a beautiful view of many monuments, and there are several major Parisian museums, located very close to the river.

However, there is no need to leave the quays and shut oneself up in a museum to admire works of art: they come to us, and await us under the paris bridges !

From June 23 to September 23, 2022, five artists install their installations, frescoes and projections under the bridges of Paris. We therefore discover Amsted under the Alma’s bridgePhilippe Echaroux under the Mary BridgeErell under the Simone de Beauvoir footbridgeID Textile – Marion & Sylvie Breton under the Bir Hakeim bridge and Sébastien Preschoux under the Léopold Sédar Senghor footbridge.

This exposure in the open is organized by the Port Community of Paris, in partnership with HAROPA PORT and the City of Paris. These organizations wish to highlight these emblematic places of the capital, which unite the two shores and the inhabitants.

This journey”Upside down“is part of the organization of Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games : it is a question of highlighting the monuments and the places of history of the capital, all these places which make Paris a unique and admirable place. Tourists and Ile-de-France residents are therefore invited to rediscover these bridges, the beauty of which we no longer necessarily see, by dint of crossing over them.

It is then time to look at the city with new eyes, and to discover all the treasures who are hiding there! A beautiful walk awaits us on the banks of the Seine this summer.

To admire the work of the artists, walk along the Seine and pass under the bridges and footbridges highlighted on this map. Good stroll to all lovers of art and Paris!
