Thor 4: “huge”, “irreverent”, “scary”… the first enthusiastic opinions on Love and Thunder

Expected on July 13 in our theaters, “Thor: Love and Thunder” has already been shown to the American press. Check out their first thoughts on Taika Waititi’s Marvel movie.

Thor is back soon! And this is even already the case for the American press, which was able to discover Taika Waititi’s film a few days ago, on the occasion of its world premiere. Entitled Love and Thunder, the feature film brings back Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) with powers, and introduces a big villain called the Butcher of the Gods, to whom Christian Bale lends his features.

Are the ghosts and newcomers convincing? The paw of Taika Waititi, very effective on Thor: Ragnarok, does it still fly? Elements of response with the first American opinions.

“Another classic Thor adventure! Love and Thunder is everything I wanted it to be. Huge, colorful and battle-heavy Guns N’ Roses, with a hopelessly romantic story about finding love in the most unexpected places. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe are especially great. And Korg!”)

“Thor: Love and Thunder is the funniest MCU movie. The jokes are great, and so is the cast who deliver them. Christian Bale, of course, is terrifying as Gorr. BUT the plot felt flat and stripped to me. stakes. Not sure if the problem is with Thor or an MCU without a big bad guy.”)

“Thor: Love and Thunder is much more episodic than I would have imagined. Offers great laughs. A very standard villain with that of Christian Bale. I want a crime buddy movie with Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. Matt Damon has to go to Broadway. EPIC post-credits scenes! Pure fun.”

“Thor: Love and Thunder is a vivid, vibrant moment that delivers on its promise. Hemsworth’s Thor remains a jewel in Marvel’s crown. Bale’s Gorr is a bogeyman who mixes the theatrical and the creepy. Portman’s Foster and Thompson’s Valkyrie make a top-notch duo. And Crowe’s Zeus is perfection.”

“Christian Bale is phenomenally menacing as the villain of Thor: Love and Thunder, Gorr the Butcher of the Gods. One of the scariest Marvel villains seen in film. I even felt vibes from Heath’s Joker Ledger in The Dark Knight at some point.”

“Thor: Love and Thunder tastes like destruction and laughs. Absolutely rocks! Taika Waititi gives us a subversive and irreverent show. Great story, high stakes and character development. Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are superb. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale slip into the universe easily.”

“I’ve seen Thor: Love and Thunder. It doesn’t quite match the visual and comedic bombshell that Ragnarok was, but Taika Waititi makes up for it with an emotionally mature Marvel movie. It’s also very funny (Natalie Portman has jokes) and contains one of the most visually stunning sequences in the entire MCU.”)

Expected in the United States on July 8, Thor: Love and Thunder will then be released in our theaters on the 13th.
