The Révélations fair, the international biennale of crafts and creation, is back at the Grand Palais Ephémère in Paris from June 9 to 12. We go to discover the know-how of artists and craftsmen from all over the world through exceptional new works.
the Ephemeral Grand Palace welcomes, from June 9 to 12, 2022the fifth edition of the international biennale of crafts and creation organized by Art workshops of France. Entitled Revelationsthis exceptional event brings together every two years more than 300 exhibitorscreators, artisans, galleries, factories, designers, architects, schools… from all over the world.
For four days, the Ephemeral Grand Palais becomes a place of life rich in surprises and innovations, bringing together professionals and amateurs around know how exceptional, which we discover through innovative works.
This 2022 edition honors theAfrica, with the unprecedented arrival of many artists and craftsmen. A special exhibition, Exceptions from Africa, allows us to make an unusual journey, to meet the different cultures and identities that form this vast continent. From artistic copperware from Morocco to revisited traditional weaving from Senegal, including beaded embroidery from South Africa or even pieces never before unveiled from Zambia, this exhibition highlights the arts and know-how of the many African cultures.
Among the exhibitors of this biennale, we find essentials, such as the Atelier Demichelis, the cabinetmaking and marquetry factory Lamellux, the art cabinetmaker Steven Leprizé of the company Arca… But also newcomers, such as the knitter and textile designer Cécile Feilchenfeldt, the cabinetmakers from the Solum Lignum studio, the sculptor Juliette Frecaline, the mozaist-visual artist Rozenn Alapetite… In total, there are 305 exhibitors, representing 20 foreign countries and 12 French regionss that we encounter during this biennial.
Revelations also invites us to participate in the highly anticipated Banquet : the international exhibition, the flagship attraction of this biennale which brings together the most spectacular works chosen from 10 countries spread across the four corners of the world. For this fifth edition, Catalonia, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Nigeria, French Polynesia, Slovakia, Zambia, South Korea and Luxembourg are honoured.
Each room, each country is magnified thanks to an airy and elegant scenography. The boundaries between craftsmanship, decorative art and contemporary art are blurring, and the works exhibited demonstrate that a functional object might as well be a real one work of art.
In addition to these exhibitions, we take advantage of conferences, of one auction exceptional, of symposium, ofchildren’s workshops and a programming outside the wallsto be found in different places in Paris.
This meeting only takes place once every two years, it is impossible to miss it! Shall we go, friends?
