Our suggestions of the day should allow you to get away from these hot days. At first, we will laugh with the troupe of Cast(s) on Canal+. Then we’ll embark for the Los Angeles of the 50s with the thriller LA Confidential, on Netflix or Prime Video, your choice. We will end with stars in our eyes thanks to the documentary beyond infinityrelating to the character of Buzz Lightyear, obviously on Disney +.

Cast(s)on Canal+

Released between 2013 and 2015 on Canal+, Cast(s) is what is called in the jargon a shortcomin the tradition of humorous short programs such as A boy a girl, In short Where Kaamelott. Co-created by a Pierre Niney at the start of his career, it brings together a troupe of young French actors to which are added several big names passing for a cameo. The principle is simple: a grumpy casting director arranges auditions or rehearsals for different programs. The ideal playground for creating humorous situations, sometimes even bordering on the absurd. A small candy where we could see the first weapons of actors and actresses today recognized as François Civil, Benjamin Lavernhe or Fanny Sidney, seen in Ten percent. As for celebrities, we meet Laurent Lafitte, Manu Payet, Gérard Darmon, Nekfeu, Marion Cotillard, Jonathan Cohen and many others.

LA Confidentialon Netflix and Prime Video

1953, Los Angeles. While the king of the local underworld has just fallen, all the thugs dream of seizing the crown. When a recently laid off cop is killed in a coffee shop, three other detectives take over the case. There’s the ambitious young rookie, the not-so-silly gruff nag and the star in constant pursuit of glitter. Their investigation will reveal a much more sprawling network than they expected. Obviously, characters and scenario seem seen and reviewed. But it is wanted. LA Confidential is a Hollywood thriller that pays homage to all the codes of the genre, right down to the femme fatale played here by Kim Basinger. And it is particularly successful. The story is exciting and full of twists and turns, the cast, led by Kevin Spacey, Russel Crowe, Guy Pearce, is impeccable, and the staging is sublime in Los Angeles from the first to the last minute. A classic often a little too forgotten.

beyond infinityon Disney+

fans of Toy StoryPixar and animation in general, you can’t wait for June 22 to discover Buzz Lightning, feature film dedicated to the origins of Andy’s favorite space ranger. To make you wait, we cannot advise you enough to watch Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Hyperspeed Journey, offered exclusively on Disney+ and describing the genesis of a character that quickly became one of the emblems of pop culture. From the improbable first sketches to the importance that his American voice actor Tim Allen may have had on the affirmation of his character, through the puzzle that was his necessary reinvention for this new film, all aspects of the character are evoked. . So interesting that we also regret that some points are not sufficiently detailed. In other words, we want even more, and not just on Buzz. If Disney listens to us.
