A resounding success for the first opus
The Black Panther movie is an undisputed success. Released in 2018, the feature film on the superhero of the same name earned $1.3 billion in worldwide box office receipts. he is also the most critically acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe film, its score on Rotten Tomatoes standing at an impressive 96%. Black Panther is mostly the first MCU film, and even the only one, to have won an Oscarmore precisely those of the best costumes, the best soundtrack and the best sets.
Its sequel, Wakanda Foreveris planned for 2018. Unfortunately, the production of the film is hit by two tragedies: in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic puts the world on hold, and a few months later, Chadwick Boseman, the interpreter of T’Challah / Black Panther, succumbs to cancer. After Marvel Studios decided not to replace Chadwick Boseman with another actor, the movie ended up being made regardless. It is however we may see Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, take on the Black Panther costume after his brother, like in the comics.
The antagonists of the second film revealed by mistake?
Once Thor: Love and Thunder is released, all eyes will turn to Wakanda Forever, the next MCU feature film. While plot details are being kept under wraps, however, it appears that the identity of certain characters in the film has been revealed by mistake. Two Wakanda Forever merchandising posters leaked on Twitter revealing that Tenoch Huerta (Narcos Mexico) will indeed interpret Namor‘, the alleged antagonist of the film, and thatAttuma will also be one of the villains. As for introductions, Namor is the Prince of the Seas, and Attuma, an Atlantean who has been banished from his city.
These small images are very beautiful, but a trailer or a simple teaser would still be more enticing. So we can cross our fingers for a preview of Wakanda Forever just after the credits of Thor: Love and Thunder. The other hypothesis is that the second opus of Black Panther will be exposed in more detail during San Diego Comic-Con from July 21 to 24, 2022.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comes out in cinemas on November 9, 2022 in France.
