A few weeks ago, we introduced you james gunn which revealed this sequence with emotional Rocket, on the occasion of the long-awaited sequel to the films Guardians of the Galaxy. And precisely, while the fans are impatient to discover the third part of the saga, one of stars movies of marvel studios recently made a statement that the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 should bring up recently introduced “characters”.
the little pranks of taika waititi
It would indeed seem that two characters in particular, who will make their debut in the next film Thor: Love and Thunderwill also return later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) timeline, if we trust the recent declarations of one of the stars of the saga of Guardians of the GalaxyChris Pratt.
The actor, best known for playing the role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in the MCU, recently revealed during an interview at the premiere of the film Thor: Love and Thunderthat the ‘space goats’ seen in Marvel movie trailers are things director Taika Waititi added to the MCU. But it also seems to be a way to tease the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3James Gunn, who will have to incorporate them for continuity reasons.
[Waititi] just wanted to stick James with goats. James needs to pick up where Taika left off, and he’s given us his space goats.
Among the questions posed to the actor, one of them was whether on whether it was common for MCU directors to troll each other by including unusual elements in the canon films, which the following team must then take over. What Pratt admitted to “that in general no, but that Taika kind of plays by his own rules!”.
The “space goats” in question have been seen in previous trailers towing what looked like a Viking chariot. And as it reminds CBR, it would be a nod to the mythology that inspired the Marvel Comics version of Asgard and its heroes. The myths often refer to the god Thor transported by a chariot drawn by two goats, named Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr.
The film Thor: Love and Thunder will take place after the events in Avengers: Endgame (2019), where we could see Thor joining the Guardians of the Galaxy team, led by Star-Lord. The team will play a role in the new film, then take center stage in the third installment of their saga, due out in 2023.
And if we disregard these “goats of space”, the fourth film Thor also promises to introduce a new pantheon of Greek gods, starring Russell Crowe as the all-powerful Zeus. The latter, as well as all the gods, will then be threatened by Gorr, the Butcher of the Godswhich will be portrayed by Christian Bale for his MCU debut.
And to continue in the same theme, find out what is Kevin Feige’s vision for the character of Thor, despite Chris Hemsworth’s decision, just here.
