Concerts, fireworks, sand sculptures, guinguette will animate the summer in Royan

A large stage returns to the esplanade…

A large stage returns to the Kérimel-de-Kerveno esplanade. Without a fixed frequency, concerts will perhaps attract, for some, a few thousand spectators. Yannick Pavon drew on the sets of the finalists of recent editions of the show “The Voice”, a reservoir of emerging talent. We will see and hear Arthur Chaminade, Jim Bauer, son of Axel, Edgar, all finalists in 2021.

Also expected are Gwendal Marimoutou, who plays Simba in the musical show “The Lion King”, at the Mogador theatre, Damien Sargue (“Romeo and Juliet”), and others. The Kérimel-de-Kerveno stage will take a break for the duration of the Un Violon sur le sable festival, which will return at the end of July after two summers of absence on the sand of the Grande Conche beach.

An authentic tavern

The formula pleases. Royan will therefore open its “Petit bal perdu” at La Tache Verte. Every Sunday in July and August, there will be guinchera from 11 a.m. until evening. “The atmosphere of a guinguette is the musette, but young artists are dusting off the genre”, assures Yannick Pavon, evoking for example Baptiste Parouty, a young 20-year-old accordionist from Perigord, incarnation of the new musette scene, among others. called upon to animate these dancing Sundays. A parquet will obviously be installed for the comfort of lovers of waltz, polka and other paso-doble.

With family

The initiative had seduced, last summer, already. In the morning and when leaving the beach, Place Charles-de-Gaulle will take on the air of a toy library, precisely with the help of that of the City of Royan. The “family village” will offer Monday to Friday, from July 11 to August 19, to spend some time around a board game, an old-fashioned wooden game, with family or friends. On certain days, the children can even try their hand at… biathlon, by shooting at electronic targets, don’t worry.

A playful village will enliven Place Charles-de-Gaulle.

sand sculptures

Another successful activity last summer, the village of sand sculptures will be set up on the Grande Conche beach, in front of the seafront, from Wednesday August 3 to Sunday August 21. It will be born from the imagination and skillful hands of several artists, who will also introduce the public to this art as spectacular as it is ephemeral.
