Game news Battlefield 2042: there are more players than on Halo Infinite, a duel of fallen titans?
This is a funny situation. On Steam, attendance figures claim that there are currently more people on Battlefield 2042, yet considered a failure by EA, than on Halo Infinite.
Like what, it is not because one descends from an ultra-prestigious franchise that success is assured. Battlefield 2042 is a clear proof of this: suffering from numerous bugs and balancing problems on its release, not to mention a too late follow-up (despite countless good ideas), EA’s game quickly crashed with plummeting attendance numbers.
A little like Halo Infinite which, however, has bet on free-to-play multiplayer: for its part, it is indeed the lack of content over time and its renewal that will have sinned343 Industries having failed to feed the community quickly enough, and either with the modes that were really expected (like the Forge, to name a few).
2042, soon as the number of simultaneous players?
The rather good news is that yesterday, Battlefield 2042 had a real boost of energy, obviously thanks to its Season 1: there were 6,089 players simultaneously on Steam. Without being exceptional, especially for a game of this caliber, this peak testifies to the interest of the players for this new season. Above all, this is three times more than the scores of Halo Infinite on this platform whose multiplayer is, let’s remember, totally free and which yesterday achieved a maximum of 2,109 people at the same time.
This is a frank testimony to the lack of content for Halo Infinite : unfortunately for him, its Season 2, which arrived last May, did not keep players on their toes for very long. On the other hand, we can look forward to all the future content to come: we think of the arrival of the Forge mode (in September) next or of Season 3, on November 9th. A battle royale is also expected, but not before 2023, obviously.
Finally, note that the Forge mode, still and always him, recently leaked on the net and this one promises a very promising customization of the maps. It can be seen here.
Battlefield 2042 has managed to retain a pretty decent player base since Season 1 launched and now has 3x the players on Steam than Halo Infinite MP which is free-to-play. pic.twitter.com/YjjiB3XKWo
